Wise Giving Overview:
Locally, our BBB serving Central Ohio was established in 1921 and began offering information and dispute resolution services to the community. Our goal was then and remains self-regulation in support of a better community and marketplace. As a way of fulfilling its mission to foster marketplace self-regulation, the Better business Bureau develops reports about companies as well as charities and other non-profit organizations that solicit the public. And these reports are made available to the public.

In conjunction with supporting the BBB's inquiry and information service, as it pertains to reporting on charitable organizations in Central Ohio, the Foundation publishes and distributes a local Wise Giving Guide. The Wise Giving Guide provides the public with information about charitable organizations soliciting in Central Ohio based on the national BBB standards for Charitable Solicitations.
